What kind of Bacon is the best?
There is a large variety of bacon in the market, but the best one is, of course, the thick one due to rich flavour and more fats. Let’s face ourselves and accept it that we do love the fat which gives most of the flavour to bacon.
Thin bacon is preferred by a lot of people too, but my personal choice and recommendation would always be the thick one.
As bacon was not eaten by a vast majority of people due to religious reasons, the market introduced halal bacon which could be consumed by all the people around the world without any problems.
How to Properly bake your bacon
A lot of people like cooking bacon while having the oven preheated which is not preferred. It does not let the fat render correctly which is why keep the oven cold before you start baking some bacon.
If you are going with the thick bacon, you would need to set the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and cook it for around 15 minutes. If you are going for the thin one, then the time will of course vary. The lighter it is, the less time you would need to cook them. But, it is better to be on the safe side and keep checking it every 5 minutes to be sure that you don’t burn them.
Right after it comes out of the oven, instead of wasting any time in anything else, lay it directly on some paper towels so the grease can be removed. If you don’t do it right after it comes out of the oven, it would then get absorbed again by the meat and would affect the taste of it.
Saving the grease
If you don’t want to waste away the oil, you can filter out all the solids and separate it from the rest of the material. It can then be stored in the refrigerator for an extended period, and you can keep using it for different things.
This grease can be very handy when you want to make the sandwiches or some salads and want to include some fat in it and make it tastier. It is undeniable that the taste of bacon is unmatched, and no one can resist it and also, it is free.
How to Keep Your Oven Clean
Keeping your oven clean is the big concern of a lot of people. If you are one of them too and don’t want to mess up your whole oven and keep cleaning it after every time you cook bacon, here is a straightforward thing that you can do to avoid all these problems.
Start covering your bacon with parchment paper. Cook on around 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes and you would get the crispy and yummy bacon that you always loved with no mess around you.
If you are cooking thin bacon, then the temperature settings and time would vary accordingly. You can try keeping the same heat settings and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes and of course, keep checking it after every 5 minutes, so you are sure, you are not burning your food.
